Finally, a few entries have been deleted from the blog. I'm not sure what is happening, though I have my suspicions about the motives of the culprit. My apologies for the lateness of this weeks post. For those of you who have already posted this week, don't worry--your comments will be counted. For those of you yet to post, please post under this entry. Keep in mind, the end of the trimester is approaching fast. Some of you have a spotty record of posts; this will hurt your final grade.

1984 pages 106-146
In this portion of the book, Winston goes to Washington D.C. he finds out that Big Brother made everything up about the wars and everything else. I’m Just Kidding. None of that junk happened. What actually happened was that the monsters of the universe collided into one big cataclysmic crash. O.K. that didn’t happen either. What actually happened was that Winston and his girlfriend joined a group called the Brotherhood. It was a group fighting against the Party (Government). It is organized in an unusual way. There are no meetings. All it is is a bunch of people giving each other orders. The leader of the group is Goldstein. He is the person who the Party tried to make look like a villain. It all started when Winston met O’Brian in the hall way. He gave him a coded signal that he was against the Party. In order for them to meet, O’Brian asked Winston to pick up a dictionary from his house. Winston and his girlfriend went to O’Brian’s house. When they got there, O’Brian turned his tele-srceen off. O’Brian told Winston and his girlfriend what their lives would be like if they joined the Brotherhood. He told them that they would have to follow specific orders without question, for the rest of their lives. When they got caught, they would have to confess a lie, and have to die. That was the end of it. He also told them that they would have to do a bunch of unethical things. Surprisingly enough, both of them accepted.
This portion of the book was outrageously flabbergastedly enormously gigantically ferociously ridiculous. It was mostly that, because I felt like saying that, this portion of the book also made me realize that that is what the rest of the book will be about. It will be about the two of the carrying out their orders. It will end with Winston going for the Party. I got that from reading the last page.
P.S. (I don’t actually think that Winston is going to end up liking the Party. He might though.)

In Farenheight 451 Guy Montag lives in an alternate world. He is in a world where we works as a fireman, but a fireman that burns books. In the beginning of the story,He meets this young girl, named Clarrise. She always wants to know why things are the way they are. It sounds odd to Montag. But the big question she asks him is, "are you happy?" He realizes throughout the story that he is not. He is married to his wife, Mildred, who is very odd. She always has her Seashell radio in her ear, or she is watching the TV wall with her relatives in it. Montag goes one night to an alarm for buring books. All the houses are fireproofed, so they just burn the books. However this alarm was different. The woman who had the books, just wanted to die silently in the fire. She did, and that bothered Montag. It really got him thinking about if he was happy or not. Later he finds his "hands" had taken a few books. He wants to read them and find out about them. He knows that if Mildred found them she would be horrified. One day, He feels sick. So he wants to read. He cant especially since his fire Captian, Captain Beaty, came over. During the time he was over, he explained how firemen really came about. He said how there was too much time to think. So, everything someone didnt want to see was burnt. Montag also is told that every fireman reads a book once in awhile. One day, he couldnt take it. Montag goes to vivt an old professor, to tell him about books. His name was Faber. Faber explains three things one needs to do to understand and breath the information in books. Number one, quality of info, number two, lesire to digest it, and number three, taking actions based on the first two. Montag is given an ear piecce, so they can take out there plan to put books in firehouses. However, that night is the firehosue, Beaty pushes it. Someone called the alrm about him havimg books. They burn his house. He lights up Beaty and Mildred is gone He takes his books and waits at Faber's house. He runs far away, so the mechanical hound does not get him. he is on the river drifting away to the promise land for him.

Rewind
pages 1-92
This story starts with the last chapter. It is in the point of view of Cady. She is at her prom and is awaiting her crush Lucas. He promised her a dance and still hasn't arrived yet. She sees a popular girl and her frind, Hope arguing with someone. it was Lucas. They were fighting and suddenly he slapped her. Everyone started gathering around them to see what happened. Cad helped Hope. When Lucas was getting taken away by the security gaurds and he mouthes ot Cady- You were the one. She said she understood. Then It was Hopes pov. It was the beginning of prom and her Cady bumped into each other in the bathroom. Cady saw bruises on Hope's body and asked if it was this guy who had been stalking her. She said yeah and told Cady to just leave it alone. Then it went to Lucas's pov. It was little while before prom. And he was waiting outside of this store he knew Hope would be in. SHe was there everyday at a certain time. When she came out, he followed her. She told him off. And he grabbed her roughly. ANd bruised her. A month or so before prom, Cady was wondering what was going on with Lucas. He had been acting distant from her. HE came to a play that Cady and Hope were both in and Hope acted really snobby toward Lucas. cady didn't understand what was going on and just let it go. Cady started hinting to Lucas that they should go to prom together and Lucas really didn't give her a reply. More while later, Hope started crying and told Cady that this guy has been texting and calling her and she was getting scared.
I think that Lucas is obviosly the stalker. But i dont know what he meant to Cady when he said- You were the one. I fing this and interesting book because it goes backward and we are hopefully going to find out what Lucas meant when he said that to Cady. I think Cady is also a little annoying on how she keeps on asking questions to Lucas that really doesn't want to answer. I also think that is being way to nice to Hope. And in the book, Cady mentioned that her and Hope used to be enemies.

I will try to make this as short as possible cus i dont feel like typing. I forgot what happened in what section soo. After Montag is done talking with the professor, he see the mechanical dog. After he finally relizes that the dog can track his scent, he starts to run. To loose his scent he goes into the river. He swims down the river and he finds some railroad tracks. he walks a little bit farther and finds some homeless people. They have a small television in their hands. They see that on the t.v, Montag was killed. Obiously, he wasn't killed. They just killed a random person to make it look like they caught him. At this point, he admits that he does not miss his wife at all. He told us that if his wife died, he wouldn't fell bad or be upset. Next, they find out there is a war going on, and there were bombs in their city. Montag and the homeless dudes survived but were knocked down by the shock.
I think Montag shouldn't have married his wife if he doesn't care if she dies. Thats pretty messed up. I think the author should tell more about the war. all i know is that there are bombs. But the author will problly talk abut it more in the third section

Harry Potter pages 1-52...
I'm starting to read a new book called Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I picked it because I thought the Goblet of Fire was good and I need the points to get a good grade in AR. The book starts out in the dursleys (harry's very mean uncle, aunt and cousin. The only family he had after vouldomort killed his parents). In the beginning Harry is hiding in a bush listening and resting to everything outside thinking about his awful life at home. He wants to go to Howwarts badly and wonders when he can. He hears his aunt and uncle talking about him saying very mean things. Harry suddenly hears a noise as he's walking and knows someone is watching him. His aunt instructs him to stay in his room all night because his uncle was doing business with this well known business man. Uncle Vermon gives the family lines to say at dinner. Harry comes inside and goes to his room and is shocked to find dobby (mafoy's servant) sitting on his bed. Dobby warns him not to come to Hogwartz because something bad will happen. Harry assumes Mafoy just doesnt want to come and his dad works with vouldamort and assumes they dont want Harry there for some strange reason. Later that night Ron and his brothers come to bring Harry to their house getting ready for Hogwartz. Harry's uncle and the twins fight pulling harry both ways but the twins finally win. When they get to Rons for some reason they have to take nomes out of the yard. Harry goes to rons room and they talk for a while. Harry has a full day ahead of him tomorrow. This is where i left off.
This is a good book so far. I kind of like harry potter and it's alot of points.

The Hobbit
Page 1- 120
The book I’m currently reading is obviously called the hobbit the other is J.R.R Tolkien. The book is also the preclude to the Lord of The Rings. Anyway the protagonist in this book is named Bilbo Baggins he is a fat hobbit who really does not do much. But one day he meets a wizard named Gandalf, Gandalf then ask Bilbo if he wanted to go on an adventure with him Bilbo did not give a direct answer but since there needed to be a plot in the book he ended going anyway. Also Gandalf brings dwarfs to assist Bilbo on his trip (by the way there looking for treasure if I did not explain that already).
First Bilbo and the dwarfs run into trouble with a couple of ogres who have intensions of cooking them for dinner. But Gandalf (also somehow Gandalf managed to wonder away from Bilbo and the dwarfs) returned and saved Bilbo and company. Then Bilbo had an encounter with a beast called Gollum who owned a (ring) that Bilbo later escaped with due to the rings ability to make some invisible.

When they get to there ship they realize the person who put the bounty on them might be connected to the sith.
This book was an OK book. I read it because I wanted to read something. I do not want to read the next book in the series.
I am sorry I was not able to post yesterday but my internet went down temporarily from the rain.

I am reading eclipse.
but im only up to about page seventy.
Okay so, so far, not a lot has happened. we left off with the Cullens deciding that Bella should be turned into a vampire after graduation. Edward is very upset by this and he tries to put it off for as long as possible. It has been decided that Carlisle would be the one to turn Bella to a vampire, but than Edward says that he will do it if Bella marries him. awwwwe, sweet right? Yeah yeah it is. so any way, Jacob brings bella's motorcycle to Charlie's house, and she gets grounded. While she's grounded, nothing really happens, accept for she get un-grounded. Then, Jacob shows up at Bella's sschool and gets into a fight with jacob. and that's where i left off.
This book isnt as fantastic as the previous two, but its still alright. i think that there isnt really a new conflict developed. Its kinda just the same thing as every thing else that i have read.

Wake
the whole book !
Okay so the book is about a girl named Janie who gets sucked into other peoples dreams. In the beginning it tells how she started having these dreams. When she's talking about her past, she brings up how Cabel Sthrumheller gave her a ride home on his skateboard. Janie hates getting sucked into people's dreams because they're usually just the falling dream or I wore my underwear to school by accident. But one day, She's driving and gets sucked into a dream about a monster with knifes for hands. During this time, she's getting closer to Cabel. (it's three years later now ^^^^^) She gets pulled into the dream about the monster again and finds out its actually Cabel. One day, on a field trip, She gets seizures because she's pulled into so many people's dreams and that's how Cabel finds out about her "condition". Janie doesn't know of anyone else that can get sucked into others dreams, but then her favorite patient at the nursing home she works at dies and leaves her $5 grand and a not saying that she can help her control the dreams because she has the same ability. From then on, Janie can control her dreams. Thats when her best friend Carrie tells her Cabel's been with a girl Shay and they're together and doing drugs. It turns out Cabel's actually a police officer dealing with a major drug bust with the leader being Shay's father. In the end, Janie helps the police officers find the stash and Captain (cabel's boss) finds out about the dreams, and says "she's a regular martha stubin." Since Janie did such great work, she got offered a job and a college application.
This book was really great. I usually don't like books with girl characters as the lead, but Janie really had a great point of view. At first I was upset about the Cabel thing, but I'm glad to know he was just pretending to be with Shay for his job. yay Cabel :)

Flush - Pgs. O-228
This book turns out to be one of my favorites. I am only about ten pages away from the end, and i can pretty much sum up the entire book.
This book takes place in the Florida Keys, where practlicly every Carl Hiassen book takes place. In this book a guy has sunken a casino boat that stays in the dock. He didnt do it for the sake of it, but rather because the boat was polluting the water with human waste that ended up on the local beaches. The guy who ownedthe boat or Dusty Muleman was nothing more than a fishing guide about two years ago. He actually knew the guy who sunk his boat, or Paine Underwood. Paine's son, Noah and his duaghter are the kids who make this book. It all starts where Paine is in jail beacue he wants to serve time rather than recieve bail. He has a little bit of an overreacting problem, and that is partly why he sunk the boat. Oh, by the way, the boat is above water again and running and still dumping. So, his kids are deterimined to go do soemthing about it. They meet Dusty's ex-fiance or Shelly who is an acomlis in the plan. Through about three weeks, they hide out onece in a while to see them dump the waste. Once, even little Abbey goes to see for herself. So, they want to put a fushia colored food gel in the toilet and when they dump it, they can then report it to the coast gaurd. So far, Dusty has gotten away with it beacuse he has a guy at the coast gaurd that tips him off. So, Noah sneeks on the ship, stay in the bathromm and sqirts the gel in the john. It works to. Of course they become straneded on there dingy wehen there engine burns out trying to escape (at "flare gun" point). They make it out and finnaly meet there "dead" grandpa. In the beginning of the story, Noah says he is dead, nut it is a long story how he was standed in columbia and some guy that dies ahd stolen his wallet. At the end, they are discusiing what just happened and how Dusty Muleman is going to get nailed.
This is absolutely one of my favorite books because of all of the suspense. It is really interesting, and I really like the setting. I had also read other one one Hiassen's books "Hoot" which i also enjoyed. So far, this has beaten almost any book I have ever read.

Miracle on 49th street
Josh cameron shows up at molly's school basketball game and molly is pissed but is happy that one of the other celtics players is there. When the game is over, Josh tries to talk to Molly but she is too pissed to talk. She tells him to leave her alone but he really wants to talk with her. Molly thinks that Josh doesn't want her at all, which is probably true. Sam seems to think that he does want Molly to be his daughter. When Josh gets in the car with him, he says that she missed understood with what he said in New York. But he has said that before and he lied. So Molly doesn't believe him but she has a right to be mad at him. He drops her off and is very disapointed...
I think Josh will find a way to get Molly to believe him. Molly gets pissed easily, but she likes Josh so she will come to her senses.

1984- Finally done.
In our blogs, we are required to write a summary of the section, and how you felt about the section. Today, I am going to mix things up. I am going to tell you how I felt about the section I read, and then I am going to tell you what it was about.
I think this section of the story was very impressive. I had no idea that a book could brainwash you like that. The ending was quite clever also. It was not what you expected, but at the same time you could see it coming. (You probably don’t know what I am talking about right now, because I haven’t written the summary yet.) If you were reading a book about a totalitarian government, what would you expect the plot to be? I’d expect it to be about a person overthrowing the government. That however does not happen, and for the time the book was written, it surprises me. (That long sentence also confuses me. I think it might be a run-on. I don’t know.)
My little brothers always want to be first. Just like the summaries are always want to be first in the blogs. Most of the time, they get their way. I however have conquered over them today; just like the government has conquered over Winston. In this section of the book, Winston gets arrested. When he gets to the Ministry of Love, the place the jails are located, he gets thrown into a cell. A bunch of people get thrown in and out of his cell. The most significant person however is Parsons. Parsons is the guy who worked in Winston’s department. He was tuned in by his own daughter. The significant part however was the fact that Parsons was proud of the fact that his daughter turned him in. It is significant, because it shows the reader that the Party’s plan is working. (I may be totally wrong of course.) In the cell, Winston also learns about a cell, room 101, which is extremely undesirable. He does not know why though. As the days turn into weeks, and weeks turn into months, Winston continues getting tortured. Then he learns that a person from the “Brotherhood”, O’Brian, is an agent who works for the party. Throughout cessions, O’Brian tries to change Winston’s thoughts towards the Party. The way he does it is he holds four fingers up. He asks Winston how many fingers he is holding up. Winston says 4. O’Brian tortures him, and tells him that the Party can make 2+2=5. Later on, when Winston says he hates big brother, he gets sent to room 101. He finds out that it takes your worst fear, and it uses it to torture you. The way Winston escapes that is by telling O’Brian to torture Julia, Winston’s former girl friend instead of him. In the end of the book however, (this is the impressive part) Winston ends up believing that 2+2=5, and learns to love Big Brother.

Just Listen
By Sarah Dessen

Annabel Greene is just going back to school after a long summer of fights and her sister going off to rehab. On her first day back she sees her old friend Sophie, who was the main reason Annabel wasn’t looking forward to going back to school. After they met a few years ago, Annabel has had to stand by and watch Sophie insult many innocent by standers, and now, it is finally her turn. When lunch starts, Annabel has to sit against the wall between Owen Armstrong and Clark Reynolds, her recent best friend. (They ended up fighting one night during summer break because Annabel went to an after hours party at the pool across the street from her house with Sophie, and had also promised to be at Clarks house by a certain time, but wasn’t, and Clark, as you can see, holds grudges.) Owen Armstrong was a huge muscular boy that always has earphones in and was either nodding his head, drumming his fingers or humming along with the music. She didn’t want to speak to wither of them, so ends up sitting there the entire lunch period and many lunch periods after that. One day Annabel ran into Sophie, and Sophie starting being very mean to her, calling her names, and Anna was getting sick of it, so she pushed Sophie to the ground. After causing a scene, Anna ran behind the school where she ended up getting sick and crying, until Owen came up and offered her a tissue. They talked for a while, and that was the beginning of, what I think, a very interesting romance. For many lunch periods after that, they talked about the music Owen listened to, and plenty of other things. Meanwhile, the space between them on the wall was shrinking, and soon Owen was sitting next to her. On the same day Anna pushed Sophie, her mom had called her to say that she had to get a ride home, and Owen had overheard and offered to drive her home. On the way, she met Owens little sister, a perky girl named Mallory. (who is a huge fan of Annabel and her modeling.) A few weeks later, Owen takes Anna out for breakfast where she meets Owens friend Rolly, the human version of a punching bag at the karate classes. Anna ended up borrowing Owens jacket and had forgotten to give it back to him. So when she got home, she ended up going back to Owens house. When she got there, Mallory was having a party with a bunch of her friends and they basically forced her to help them with their “photo shoot” they were doing, Owen had already been forced to be the photographer. After the party had been about half way over, Owen asked Anna to let him take her picture, when he was showing it to her, he finally kissed her. Then, after a meeting at the mall for the next fashion show Anna was in, Owen pulled up next to her and asked her to listen to a song. Anna said that she thought it would sound better in a car wash, and off they went, to the car wash to listen to the song again, but instead, Owen ended up kissing Anna again. I ended up stopping where Anna had finished the fashion show and was heading to a place where a friend of Owens was playing with his band.
I really, really like this book. Owen and Anna are complete opposites, but that’s what makes their relationship so different. Owen is big, loves techno music, and has a bad reputation. Anna is a model, a good friend, but also has many rumors following her. So no matter how different they are, they have so many other things in common. I still have yet to find out why Sophie and Anna are fighting, but I hope it’s not over something dumb like not showing up to a party or bailing out on something at the last minute. And I hope Anna’s sister Whitney, the one with the eating disorder, starts talking again, and isn’t so gloomy any more. All their parents want to do is help, but with Whitney, there’s no winning.

Then winston is taken to a room were o'neil tortures winston. He says big brother rules all. But threwout the torture winston never betrays the girl he allways still loves her. Then he is sent to room 101. That room makes you face the scariest thing you have. Winston knows before he gets there what to do to get out of it. He says make the girl do it not me please. Then you see winston in a bar and he loves big brother.
I did not like this book because I did not like the plot. I was hoping you would see sinston fix big brother so then you can see was life better with big brother or without it. You would also get to see how he would have to change it. I am sorry for all the spelling and gramatical mistakes but I am wiring on my dad's blackberry while on vacation.

peter and the secrets of rundun.
pages 150-ish, to page 247-ish
kay so where i left off was when peter wanted to find out about his parents. so since then, peter and his friends get trapped in this jail. The jail is part of King Zarboff's (yeahyeah i know stupid name) castle. king z, lets call him, wants peter to find him more star stuff because lord umbra told him to. i know, another dumb name, but hey what can you do about it? so anyway.lord umbra can take over people's shadows and find out what they are thinking about and then threaten them. since lord umbra isnt human he doesnt care, but he is trying to end the world. Molly and her father find out about this and so they go to rundun (which is where they are holding peter captive) and molly's father and his friend go off trying to save peter while molly and her friend george are still on the ship. But of course molly won't just sit there like a good child but she and george go off to look for her father, but trying to do this they come across peter. peter is out with king z trying to find star stuff against his will. molly and george rescue peter and company. then they go look for molly's father. it turns out that her dad is hidden in the place that peter was. so tinkerbell goes off and looks for molly's dad and brings back a message, which is that they have to stop a rocket and then come to save him. this rocket is taking star stuff into space which will react in MORE star stuff falling which is what umbra wants, but humans dont. so molly is like "I dont think so. im going to get my dad." and then peter: "umm. no come to do what he tells us to do." molly : "NO!!!" and then she runs. Molly gets to where her father is and then she gets caught and thrown in the cell with dear old daddy. then peter goes up in the rocket to try and stop the star stuff fall and save humanity. while all of this is going on, george and peter's friends steel a ship so they can escape rundun.
and this is where i left off.
i think that this is probably the best part of the book so far because there is A LOT going one compared to what HAS been going on. i really hope that everything works out for them. if it doesnt, it would be really sad.
ps. HAPPY THANKSGIVING (:
