Miracle On 49th street
Mike Lupica
52-92
Zack Novick

At this point in the book, Molly and Sam go to Josh's car. They get to his car because Sam distracts the two guards at the gate. Molly gets to Josh's car. Eventually Sam does too. Sam talks to Josh while Molly sneaks in the back seat. When Josh drives away, he hears Molly in the back seat. They start talking and he decides he should bring her to his house. When they get there, Molly loves his house. She sits on the sofa while she makes Josh read her mom's letter. When Josh was done reading the letter for the second time in the story, he still thinks Molly made the whole thing up. He crumples the paper up and tells her to leave and Josh got her a cab. Molly ran out of the room crying and decided to walk home. Josh's driver sees her walking home and walks her home. The next Monday Sam and Molly are walking home from school. They talk about Molly's basketball tryouts. Also Molly told Sam she stole Josh's baketball hat. She says she is going to get a DNA test on his hair. She wants to prove to Josh that she really is his daughter. When they get to Molly's house, they see Josh Cameron's car parked in the drive way. Josh gets out with his house keeper, Mattie. Mattie was much more than his house keeper though. She kept him straight and told him when he was doing something wrong. Josh apologized to Molly. Josh tells her when Mattie made him read the letter carefully, he recognized that the letter was from Molly's mom. Josh and Molly go on a walk and they start shooting hoops. Josh passes it to Molly and Molly shoots similar to Josh. Josh tells Molly that she is a good player. Mattie tells Josh Molly gets it from him. That is when Josh finally agreed to a DNA test. But Molly doesn't want one anymore. She wanted to try to prove her mom wrong and show that Josh cared about her enough to believe that she was his daughter without having to have a DNA test. After that, Molly talks it over with Sam as they walk to school together the next day.

I thought that Molly and Sam's plan was awsome by distracting the guards. This book has a lot of adventure in it. I'm pretty convinced that Josh believes Molly is his daughter even though he does not directly say it.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Pgs. 174 - 210

The book continues from where Harry is injured beacuse of the bludger in the Quittch match. He is now just learning because of Lockheart's stupidity, they have to grwo his bone back. He is going yoto be in th ehospital wing for a while. During his sleep that night, he is awaken from a noise. He finally realizes after seeing him, that it was Dobby, the house elf. Dobby indirectly said to Harry, that he made that bludger go after him. He said he was sorry, but it was for his own good. he said Harry was in danger at Hogwarts and said he wanted Harry to want to leave Hogwarts. Dobby says to Harry that the chamber of secrets has been opened again, and Harry begs him to tell him more. A noise both of them here causes Dibby to snap his fingers and leave. Harry pretends to be asleep but is listening to Professor Dumbledoor an McGonicall. They lay a person on abed and madam Pomfrey comes in, he hears them say he is petrifeied. Harry realizes that it was another attack. He looks to see who it was, and it was Collen Creevy. They opened the phototgraph to see if he got a shot of the attacker, but when they opened it, it imploded. Later in the week, there was a sign for a dueling club. The three, Harry, Harmione, and Ron decide to go. There they are instructed by Lockheart and Snape on how to duel. Harry ends up getting on the stage, by force from snape and Draco, and must duel Draco. Draco sends a spell for a snake to come up, and it does. Harry yells get away from him, (from a kid in the back) and he thinks he was saying it normally. But in trueth, he was speaking posile tong. It is known only dark wizards know how to do this, and from there on after, people were avoiding Harry. He watches as people talk about him, and are rude to him, in the way of avoidance. A week later, Harry was walking along the corridor furous about what people were saying about him. He sees hHagrid along the way, and asks if Harry is alright. Harry was walking everwhere, not even knowing where he was going. He tripped and looked down. It was Hustin Finch, he was petrified. On top of him it was Nearly headless Nick. Dead, again. The kids storm in, and screem about another attack. Profefsior McGonagall takes him to Professor Dumbledoor's office. He does not think Harry has done anything, and then Hagrid storms in saying Harry didn't do it. Nothing went further except a question about Harry being alright. People are always joking about the "attack" especially Rons brothers. It was ok, but it was a little annoying after a while.

I like this part, it makes it become really suspenceful, and I think that Harry will end up goinginto the chamber and having to fight this big monstor, without the help of others.

The titan’s Curse Pages 90- 160
(titan is not capitalized because it does not deserve to be.)
Ok. So here is the deal. This week, I only read 70 pages in my book. Ok, that may sound world shattering, but, that’s all the book’s dull writing would let me. Even though it was dull, I still paid attention to it because I knew I would end up having to write this plot summary anyway. In this portion of the story, the Percy Jackson idiot gets on a flying horse. It takes him out into the ocean. He jumps off the horse. When he gets into the water, he sees a cow slash fish thing. I know that is foreshadowing, but I don’t know how. Anyway, the cow thing is trapped, so Percy saves it and leaves. When he gets back to camp, he finds Nico, eavesdropping on her sister and the hunters because he is worried about his sister. Percy, standing right next to Nico with an invisible cap on, also listens to the conversation. After the girl hunters leave, Percy intercepts Nico. Nico tells him to look after his sister, even though he’s not on the quest. Percy, being the way he is, calls the flying horse, and goes on the quest with them. When they get to D.C, (they started in N.Y by the way), Percy goes into a museum with his invisible cap on. There he sees the evil, ok you are not going to believe this, “General”. I know. That is the most pathetic name for someone who is supposed to be bad. After that, he goes into the space museum, and tells his friends the story about how they are in danger. Right after Percy conveniently finishes the story, a huge lion comes in. They end up killing it as usual, and Percy takes the fur of the lion. After they run from the cops, the kids find a homeless guy, who gets on a cargo freight train with them. In the cargo, Percy has a dream about something stupid, and that’s where I left off.
I thought this portion, along with the first portion, was boring to read, although this part was not as bad as the first. I think I’ll make this a career. I love making fun of books. This book is probably going to take me a long time to read though. It’ll probably take me another week or 2 to finish it. After this book, I will probably start reading some non fiction books. I don’t think I’ve ever finished a non fiction book in my life.

P.S.- Have you noticed that my opinion paragraphs are always shorter than my summary paragraph?, ’cause I haven’t noticed.

Just Listen
20-30

When Sophie, the main character of the book, heads to lunch, she sees that there is no place for her to sit accept between her old friend Clark Renoylds and the large, muscular Owen Armstrong. Owen is normally alone and is always listening to his iPod. He is the schools loner and doesn't normally talk to anyone. Clark Renoylds, Sophie thought, had gotten over the what had happened the previous January. (I still have yet to find out exactly what had happened.) So Sophie sits right between them. she takes her time conjuring up the confidence to look around at Clark and the rest of the people sitting at the tables. When she looks to her side, she saw that Clark was staring at her too. Sophie tried to find something to say, but before she could, Clark slid off the wall and walked away. She looked around then, seeing her old friends laughing and having a good time accross the room. Then, she looks over at Owen. She didn't want to stare long, but when she looked away and looked back at him, she saw that he was looking at her. When she looked away, she turned her head and threw up in the dirt behind her. On her way out of the parking lot, her mom calls her to tell her that an agency wants to meet her for a swimsuit photo shoot. Sophie had been a model all her life, just like her two sisters before her, Kirsten and Whitney. She tried to get out of it, but her mom just ends up guilting her into going.

This book, from what I read, is really getting my interested to find out what had happened to Sophie to make all her friends leave her. The way most people would think Sophie would act, being a model, really strikes me. She is a very kind and down to earth person who just wants her friends back. I know, somehow, she will confront her friends and tell them her side of the story and hope they will forget it, but that may not be for a long time. This book is very interesting to read and a page turner.

Breathe My Name
pgs. 0-119
The main character is Frances Robinson. It starts off with her having a dream of her past. It is her, her three younger sisters, And her mom. Her name is Shine. Her sisters are Tan, Ninny, and Suddle. Their mother made up a imaginary place which she beleives is real, Fireless. They actually lived in Tennessee. In the dream she was only 7 years old. When she woke up, she got ready for picture day. She has a new family now. HEr mother did her hair. She is now 18 years old. And she is very tiny. Frances is only 4'11'' and 103 pounds. When she arrived at school, there was this guy in a Black Volkswagon watching her. She shook it off and went to the door. A guy kept it open. He was new so she walked him to the office. His name was John Mullinix. He said to call him Nix. And he came from New Orleans as a senior only because of her brother. Frances gave a desription of Nix. He seems really hot. And he reminds me of a younger John Cena. She goes to her chemistry class and is the only one without a partner. The teacher introduces a new kid and it just happens to be Nix. Before taking a seat he says that he is looking for new friends and would love have anyone as it. Everyone felt so embaressed for him. After class she just chatted with her best friend, Ann Mirrete. Ann and Frances parents are the only one who know her secret. At night she ahas another dream of when she and her sisters were laying on the grass, and phyco of a mother was stabbing herself with a thorn stem. AAnd she yelled at her to stop. During lunch, this special ed student, Ricky Thigpin and a teacher came into the luchroom. As the teacher was feeeding the guy, he got called and had to leave for a moment. Ricky started pounding his fists on the table and everyone joined in. Nix came to his table and fed Ricky. Everyone sat there in shock. He later asked her ot and she said yes. He said he knew how to control Ricky because his brother is in Special Ed and thats the reason he came hear. One day Ann and Frances came home the black car in the driveway. HE was a lawyer and came to say that Frances mother was released from the prison and gave Frances a letter. It said she needed to meet her and finish. Ann convinced her to tell everything to Nix. She told him that she is adopted and that her actual mother called each sister upstairs one by one and smothered them with a pillow. She was about to do the same thing to France, but someone came in and heard the noises. Her mother was sent to prison but stayed in the mental ilness place of it.

I like this story. It showed what was happening clearly. I just wish that Nix would stop acting so geeky, because he is to hot for that and the fact that i think he looks like John Cena. I can't wait to see if her parents find the letter and read it and if Fraces will go her mom.

in this pages that i have read nothing really has happened that important. Kids get asked by some people to help save the world. Now they are on a boat going to where ever they are going. Fang is flirting with the doctor max gets mad and flies off and then when she comes back. Fang asked her why she flew off and max said to get some air but fang knows that she was mad and it ends with max walking into the girls room and because she didn't want to talk about it.

i still am into the book and i want to see what will happen.

Miracle On 49th street
Zack novick
Pages 93-100
Extra credit

So far, Josh is getting nicer to Molly. The same thing is happening every day, just in different ways. The only thing that has changed is that instead of Molly making a plan with Sam to meet with Josh, Josh is coming to her. In this part of the book, Sam has not been one of the main characters. Earlier in the book, Sam would help Molly with everything and talk everything over. Now the main characters are Josh and Molly.

I think this is getting really old. Josh and Molly talk to each other every day about Molly's mom and it doesn't have much action in the book besides when Molly snuck into Josh's car.

Sunday's At Tiffany's
James Patterson
I'm on page 70 something now...

Jane was making her and michael's story into a play. Vivienne tried to get her to lie to a holly wood producer to get money for the play saying someone else was interested in it. Jane has a boyfriend named Hugh McGrath his is a "handsome" actor. He was always standing her up on their dates. This night was no different. It made her very sad and as she was walking out of the restaurant she was crying. She felt like a pathetic loser. Meanwhile, Michael returned to New York when he was in between assignments. He happened to be on the same street as Jane after she came out of the restaurant. He was "girl watching" and noticed a girl who was sad but trying to be brave. She had a lot of charactoristics of Jane. He thought it just couldn't be. Michaels jaw dropped but it was in fact Jane. He followed her but hesitated. After a quick moment of thinking, he decided to fallow her cab using the words he always wanted to use. "Follow that cab!" He had never met a child after he spent time with them. Why was this happening? What did this mean? The longer Michael was there the more he felt. As he followed the cab he couldn't believe Jane still lived with her mom. It turned out she was just dropping off an envolope. When she got out of her apartment Michael stayed behind so she wouldn't see him. From this he realized it was Jane that he was looking at.

This is still a good book. I think later it might turn into some kind of chick-flick. That would not be good! I hope it stays good and doesn't turn into a book I don't like. I think Michael will get the courage to talk to her because if he doesn't there would not be alot more pages. I hope they become friends so it doesn't become some chick flick.

Week of 10/6-10/10

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
Chapters 4 – 9

Dr. Richard Stone of the Tropical Disease Lab opens a package from Dr. Guitierrez of Costa Rica. The frozen remains of a dead lizard are inside the box. Dr. Stone finds that the lizard did not have any disease and sends a note back to Dr. Guitierrez who misreads it and believes that it confirms his idea that the lizard is a basilisk lizard. At the end of chapter 4, a nurse walks into a newborn baby’s room to find three lizards eating the flesh of the dead baby.

The nurse does not report the baby’s death properly and the hospital says that the cause is infant death syndrome. In Dr. Stone’s lab, the staff studies Tina’s drawing and decide it look like a dinosaur. A member of the team wants to bring the lizard to a museum for another opinion but Dr. Stone puts the carcass away and tells the staff to forget about it.

Alan Grant and Ellie Sattler are in Montana working on an archaeological dig to study dinosaurs. A man named Bob Morris from the EPA visits them to ask them about their work and about supporting some of their research. Bob also asks Dr. Grant about his work at a company called InGen and the Hammond Foundation and Dr. Grant tells him that he only worked there for a short time to study the eating habits of dinosaurs. Bob Morris tells Dr. Grant that InGen is setting up a lab off the island of Costa Rica and that the Hammond Foundation is possibly doing something illegal. Dr. Grant and Ellie then receive a fax from the Tropical Diseases Center showing the x-ray of the lizard. They believe it looks like a dinosaur that lived 220 million years ago. In the meantime they receive a call from Hammond (an old man) and they tell him about the lizard. Hammond starts acting strange and insists they come to Costa Rica to visit him as consultants. Hammond calls his attorney to tell him to call Dr. Grant to bring him to the island.

The novel I am currently reading is called the troll king its author is John Vornholt. The reason I choose this novel is because it was short and worth 8 points, not much but I don’t care. This novel is categorized as science fiction. My best guess is that the book was created between 1950 and 2000, the reason I say the book could have been written in 1950 is because John Vornholt became a well known author at that time according to wikipedia.

The protagonist in this story is named Rollo a troll he is of the male gender and was currently at the age of 14 in the book. Rollo is a troll who is different from other trolls; he actually wants to go out on adventures and has a fetish for sniffing flowers. But every one around Rollo wants him to become a hard working troll who has the labor of producing bridges so others like the mighty soccer Sytignus Rex can transport safely to a destination of his choosing. But on page 99 of the story Rollo is captured with other trolls and is tolled he has to make bridges and it was not optional but obligatory that he do it. WELL WILL ROLLO ESCAPE AND GO BACK HOME- I DON’T KNOW SO I WILL JUST LEAVE YOU WITH A CLIFF HANGER.
